Working with children can be a fun and rewarding career, however the safe and proper care of young people (and their families) can be challenging. Learners must be competent, trustworthy and confident to ensure they provide stimulating and inspiring care, supervision, learning and development in a protected environment to children, adults and carers who use the service.

Careers where the care and safeguarding of young people is paramount, include organisations and services like:

Babysitting / Child-minding
Early Years Worker/Assistant
Care Worker/Assistant
Assistant Youth Support & Community Worker
Further training can allow you to seek and apply for positions as a Nursery Worker and/or a Nursery Teaching Assistant.

Workers in this sector must safeguard children’s personal protected information and physical safety whilst allowing for growth of capabilities. Individuality, difference and diversity must be celebrated and encouraged.
