Retail and Commercial
As the largest private sector, retail accounts for 10% of the workforce in the UK. Giving you greater opportunities to try different options and has many diverse roles where you can apply your skills. Skills should be developed in accordance to your role and the type of business which may be in a specialist area such as stock handling, window and product display, operating a till or generally assisting customers on the shop floor.
Retail consists of a wide range of businesses selling goods or merchandise and can be anything from a department store, supermarket, national chain or small independent outlets (surf stores / jewellery / confectionery etc.). Below are some of the positions obtainable after course completion:
- Sales Assistant
- Shop Floor Co-ordinator
- Personal Shopper / Consultant
- Counter / Till Operative
- Stockroom Assistant
This qualification also has optional units allowing you to specialise more and as you progress to the advanced level, more pathways become available enabling your Apprenticeship to particularly reflect your strengths.
