As part of the larger Logistics sector; the warehousing and storage industry provides many opportunities to jobs and training. Effective management, organisation, care and the storage of goods and merchandise is a significant aspect of businesses who are involved in the dispatching of products and handling stock. A company’s reputation can be directly affected by their customer’s satisfaction. This can be damaged, for example, by the condition of a package, whether a delivery date is met and / or wrong items supplied.

This Apprenticeship prepares you to undertake a range of duties such as loading and unloading vehicles, ensuring the safe and correct care of stock in storage, organisation of customers’ requirements (i.e. meet specified time of delivery etc.) and careful packing of products.

Warehouse Operative
Storage Officer
More senior roles may include higher responsibilities like supervision of a team to ensure company standard is being met. The industry aims to attract more applicants and replace retired staff with skilled candidates, predominantly trying to place under-represented groups (women) into Level 2 jobs in the Warehousing industry.

Starting salary £13,500 (once qualified)
