The Seafood Restaurant
The Seafood Restaurant welcomed the opportunity to develop the customer services skills of its staff through a bespoke Apprenticeship package.
A training solution was created that allowed seven individuals to join an Apprenticeship programme at its new central warehouse in Padstow.
The apprentices, aged 19 plus, are all permanent employees within the restaurant empire. The company sees Apprenticeships as a key way to develop its staff, totalling more than 400, and is looking to provide additional opportunities in the future.
Michael Rabone, HR Manager, said: “Customer service is at the core of our business, so this has been a great avenue to further develop the skills of our staff. Our warehouse employees have a lot of face-to-face contact with direct customers during deliveries, as well as with the company’s internal clients and suppliers.”

The warehouse stocks some 4,200 lines and last year its team made nearly 47,000 deliveries.
Mr Rabone added: “The Apprenticeship package created for us was attractive in its simplicity and efficiency. Its flexibility meant that training delivery could be fitted around the seasonal peaks and troughs of the business. We particularly welcomed the support and expertise in handling the paperwork and delivering the training, which allowed us to concentrate on running the business. The financial incentive was also appreciated.”
