Employers will hear first-hand how apprentices can be the key to economic growth at a prominent business event in Cornwall next week.

Sarah Newton, MP for Truro and Falmouth, and employers of apprentices, will speak at a free business breakfast event organised by the Cornwall Apprenticeship Agency at the Cornwall Business Show on Thursday October 3rd, 8.30am-9.30am.

The event at Kingsley Village, Fraddon, will be an opportunity for businesses to hear about the latest developments enabling companies to access apprentices.

The Cornwall Apprenticeship Agency can employ an apprentice on a business’s behalf, reducing the risks and costs commonly associated with recruitment. It can help source the right candidates, handle the administration and support the short-listing process, and help businesses access funding per apprentice.

Any business wanting to hear more about the Agency’s unique approach is welcome to join its team of specialist skills advisors at the breakfast seminar.

Sarah Newton MP, who has supported the Agency’s objectives from the inception, will be highlighting the importance of apprenticeships for economic growth and job creation.

She said: “High quality apprenticeships provide both businesses with the skills they need to grow, and employees with crucial work and training opportunities in their chosen career paths. The Cornwall Apprenticeship Agency’s all-round support and help accessing funding is particularly valuable to SME’s who sometimes face greater risks when growing their workforce.”

He said: “The whole process, from recruitment through to employment, was all made so much easier by the on-going support of the Cornwall Apprenticeship Agency.
